What happens after you pair with a device

With this companion app you can control your dash cam wirelessly. You can see both front and rear live footage at once. The picture-in-picture mode works great when you want multiple angles at once, while switching between cameras is instant. You can take video and photos remotely so that you do not have to reach for the camera when recording incidents in parking lots or capturing scenic drives.

The GPS tracking overlay can be very useful. It places your video’s speed and location on the shot. This is important information for insurance documentation after a crash. There is also option for SD card support for formatting, loop recording settings adjustment, video resolution control and change your WiFi password. You can also find a parking monitor management feature. However, it will require additional hardware to work. You can view the footage in landscape and full-screen mode.

Ask help with managing your files

This is where things get annoying: users say downloaded files come in .ts format rather than .mp4. This creates playback problems on many devices and media players. Receiving a photograph in TIFF image format when JPEG was requested is technically correct but inconvenient. The community is also reporting slow wireless download speeds for large files, meaning transferring the recording of a long drive down the highway can take forever.

Who Should Install This

No in-app purchases or ads are present to keep it clean. However, it does not have an offline feature; the wi-fi connection between your phone and dash cam must stay active.

Redtiger Cam provides real value if you possess REDTIGER-compatible hardware and wish to enjoy a wireless convenience to resolve «file download issues» and access the camera. The GPS tracking overlay and dual-camera preview are very useful so we like the install. Unfortunately, the .ts file type restriction and VPN confusion will never let it be a simple tool. This was designed for a specific ecosystem, so it doesn’t record on its own or work as a universal dash cam. If you own a REDTIGER already, you would feel like you must. Despite the issues, it is not functional. People should consider what their dash cam manufacturer provides first.
